A bolide (an especially bright meteor)

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on September 6, 1934, a large meteor was witnessed by people in all quarters of the State of Kansas, from many parts of Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma, and the Panhandle of Texas.
